Issue 4
Scene 1
The Devil and Michael continue to battle.
Meteor Shower
The Devil creates a large dark cloud and flaming, boulder size meteors start raining down on Michael.
Michael flies around close to the ground, avoiding the meteors.
Army of the Dead
The Devil then conjures a bunch of flaming skeletons that run into Michael and explode on contact.
Michael starts to avoid the skeletons after a couple explode on him. Then he starts to use ranged attacks to destroy the skeletons before they hit him.
Michael starts to fly backward, close to the ground, avoiding the skeletons.
Scene 2
Joshua talks to Alexander on video call.
Joshua
“You must not fail.”
Alexander
“My best people will be on it.”
Joshua
“You must be ready at a moments notice.”
Alexander
“Understood.”
Joshua
“Alexander, do not fail me. I made you and I will bring you down.”
Alexander
“There is no reason for threats. I have never failed you and I don’t intend to now.”
The call ends. A man and a woman step up. Rahab and Nimrod.
Rahab
“Yeah boss?”
Alexander
“You cannot fail.”
Rahab
“Don’t worry. We got this.”
Alexander
“I’m serious. If you fail we are all doomed.”
Rahab
“Yeah. Yeah.”
Scene 3
Craze vs Longinus. They square off and are fighting outside one of the abandoned buildings.
Craze
“Shall we dance?”
Longinus
“I will crush you little one.”
Longinus tries to push Craze to the side, but he doesn’t move. Craze then hits Longinus, sending him into one of the abandoned buildings.
Craze enters the abandoned building through the hole in the wall that was made when Longinus went through it. Craze is levitating.
Craze
“I may be small, but I am quite powerful.”
Longinus picks himself up from the rubble and begins to laugh.
Longinus
“I have never been struck so hard. This will be fun.”
Then Longinus hits Craze with an uppercut and sends Craze flying up through the roof. A minute later Craze falls through the same hole he made on the way out. Craze stops himself from hitting the ground by still levitating.
Longinus
“I enjoy this dancing.”
Craze gets back up in a standing position.
Craze
“Indeed.”
Craze strikes Longinus and Longinus falls to the ground. Longinus then sends Craze flying across the room.
Longinus
“Come here ugly one. I’m not done playing.”
Craze
“You know, I used to be quite dashing in my youth.”
Craze thinks back to when he was younger.
“I was born in London England in the year of our Lord, 1511. I was one of 11 children and raised in a loving and nurturing environment.
My mother was a young and beautiful socialite and my father a respected goldsmith. I was educated in private school, but was soon expelled due to unruliness and debauchery.
As punishment I was sent to the Church of Canterbury and placed into the service of the Archbishop himself. Once there, I sought to continue my wicked ways, but I soon found that the consequences of my actions were now more severe.”
Craze is pictured being raped by the priests.
“This rigid discipline would continue throughout my adolescence. Years of blind obedience, torture, and abuse.
I prayed everyday that the Lord would rescue me, but my prayers were never answered.
As the years passed, I came to accept my place in this hell on Earth. That is until April of 1534, when King Henry the 8th enacted the Reformation Act and withdrew from the Catholic Church and the authority of the Pope.
I, like others, found these new law’s blasphemous and procured safe passage to Spain as soon as it was possible. I chose to remain loyal to my faith and the Catholic Church. I would abandon the country of my birth, in place of burning in hell for eternity.
Even though I had forsaken my country and King, I was never fully embraced or trusted by my new brothers in Spain. My exile turned into a den of paranoia and subterfuge.
It didn’t take long to realize that I would never be trusted in my new home. I was looked at as if I was a spy and always treated as the outsider. It seemed like I went from one hell to another.
However, in 1541 I would meet a man that would change my life forever. His name was Ignatius of Loyola and his teachings would give me purpose and guide my future. He created the Society of Jesus, to educate young men and spread the teaching of God. We would eventually come to be known as the Jesuits.
There were a few prerequisites that a young man needed to possess in order to join the Order. Every young man had to be handsome and also possess a silver tongue. They would be required to use these special talents in order to become part of a secret network of spies.
We would be planted into colleges, churches, and even the royal courts of Europe themselves. We would be confessors to royalty and influence national policies. We would teach young men and instruct them to follow our doctrine on what we considered to be the future of not only our continent, but also the new world.
For my first mission I was sent to New Spain. The newly discovered land on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. Eventually it would be called the Indies, but you will know it as Central America.
I was tasked with leading the mission to convert the natives of this new world to Christianity. They would embrace our lord Jesus Christ or they would die for their sins.
It was 21 years after Cortez and the Conquistadors defeated the Aztecs and destroyed the city of Tenochtitlan when I set sail for New Spain.
We landed in Puerto de Veracruz in mid-September of 1543. I was welcomed with open arms by the local missionary.
We were allowed a few weeks before we started our journey into the interior and our primary mission to convert the natives to Christianity.
It was myself, Brother Alonzo, a contingent of soldiers, and our native guide Coyotl. Coyotl was an Aztec warrior who had survived the war and now worked for the local Spanish government.
Coyotl was a strong and fierce man with lovely eyes and long dark hair. He was the most beautiful man I had ever laid eyes on and I was instantly attracted to him. I had many intimate relations with males of authority in my life, but never anything I would consider consensual.
I was never given a choice as to whether I wanted to participate in dalliances with other men. It was always an act of obedience and service for me.
However, as I stood there in front of Coyotl, desires I had never felt before consumed my every thought. I had never felt this way before about anyone ever and even though he was a heathen, I couldn’t help myself.
I vowed I would never force any person to have relations with me, but I would be lying if I said it didn’t cross my mind with Coyotl.
I was very polite to Coyotl and Brother Alonzo instantly took offense to my pleasantries. He told me that the savages only understood servitude and that they shouldn’t be allowed to think that they are on equal footing with us.
It wouldn’t take long to realize that Alonzo was inherently cruel to the native population. He would fornicate with both man and woman alike and almost always without their consent. He encouraged me to do the same, but I refused. He even made an advance on me one evening, but I declined and retired to my room alone.
After that he resorted to insulting me about my English heritage and my choice to abandon my king and country. He used profanity quite often and cursed at the natives for him being forced to be there.
Alonzo was of noble birth, but he was the fourth son of a wealthy Count. He would never inherit lands or title and was forced by his father to join the Jesuits, in hopes of being of some use to his family. He was educated in one of the first Jesuit universities and because of his volatile temperament was sent to the New World after graduation.
My day would consist of preaching the gospel to the natives and attempting to convert them. However, unlike my counterpart, I would not force them to embrace the Lord. This would lead to constant arguments with Alonzo and I found myself loathing the man. He would fly into fits of rage and then in the next moment try to seduce me or one of the natives.
The following year, a courier from Europe arrived. My superiors in the order instructed me to undertake a solitary mission further into the interior of the country. It would be just myself and Coyotl.
Alonzo smiled when the courier arrived. I knew after I had read the message that Alonzo had orchestrated my mission. He was surprised when he learned that I wasn’t upset about the mission. I told Alonzo that it was God’s will, but to be honest I was happy to have the opportunity to be rid of him. It also was a chance for Coyotl and I to be alone.
Coyotl and I left before dawn. We traveled on foot during the day and stopped in a small village for a meal and a night’s rest. I thanked our host family for their hospitality and went to the stables to sleep in a bed made of hay.
I awoke soon after to Coyotl climbing into the makeshift bed with me. We embraced and made love. It was the happiest I had ever been in my life. We left in the morning without a word said, but we would continue our affair as we traveled further into the interior.
We journeyed for weeks staying in one small village after another. My mission was to convert the leaders and then afterwards take steps to gain the villagers trust.
After all of this I would then task the village in constructing a church and consolidate the church’s power in that village. It was progressing slowly, but I didn’t mind. With Coyotl by my side I wanted this time of my life to last forever.
One night while I was sleeping, a raiding party of Aztec warriors entered the village and took me against my will. Among these warriors was Coyotl. He wasn’t a prisoner like myself. He was with the group kidnapping me.
When I realized it my heart was broken and I began to sob uncontrollably.
I was blindfolded and tied up and led through the jungle for what seemed like an eternity. We eventually stopped and I could hear others crying around me.
Coyotl took off my blindfold and as my eyes focused I could see that we were in front of a giant stone temple. It looked abandoned and I could see warriors using torches to light small pyres around the structure.
Coyotl walked up to me and apologized. He told me that the group of warriors were the Nahualtetuctin and he was their leader. The Nahualtetuctin were warriors who survived Cortez and the Conquistadors.
They were warriors that each had their own Nahual or guardian animal spirit. They were trained in black magic and combat and after a brutal initiation with hallucinogenic drugs would become sacred warriors to continue the war against the invaders. Coyotl was a jaguar; the others were different animals of the jungle.
Coyotl walked away and I was led to the top of a pyramid with the other prisoners. Whatever was about to take place, I was to be first. They then stretched my body across a large stone altar.
I prayed and cried as one of the warriors plunged a knife into my chest and pulled out my still beating heart. I stared silently in horror as I took my last breath.
I was sacrificed to the Aztec Gods, but before I blacked out I could see Coyotl behind the group of warriors looking directly at me. He just smiled and then I saw what seemed to be him transform into a crested caracara, a falcon of the region, and then fly away. Everything went dark after that. I was dead.
I woke up some time later. I’m not sure how much time had passed. I didn’t know how I survived, but I knew deep in my heart that the Lord had nothing to do with this miracle. I had always followed the teachings of the Bible and Jesus Christ. I had always turned the other cheek. But no longer. After everything I had been through in my life, I was angry.
I wandered the jungle for a very long time murdering both natives and Spanish. I was indiscriminate in my carnage. I was lost in an insatiable bloodlust that had no end. I killed men, women, and children and felt no remorse. I was a monster.
I didn’t care how many I killed. I did not stop until I met Natas.
Natas explained to me about the Seven and their manipulation of mankind. Natas asked me to join him and granted me a small portion of his energy. For the first time in my life, I was given a choice.”
Scene 4
Longinus and Craze continue to fight. Black energy extends from Craze’s fingernails and he scratches Longinus. Craze creates large cuts along Longinus’ chest.
Longinus jumps back away from Craze and smiles as he sees the blood from his body.
Longinus
“I haven’t bled since my resurrection.”
Craze
“You will bleed more before this day is done .”
Longinus
“I won’t be defeated by such a puny man.”
Longinus then picks up an old water truck abandoned on the site. He lifts the truck over his head and throws it at Craze.
The truck flies through the air and Craze stops the truck in mid air with one finger.
Craze throws the truck back at Longinus and Longinus is smashed by the truck.
Craze starts to turn to fly away when Longinus throws the truck off of himself and screams at Craze. Craze floats down to the ground.
Longinus
“We are not finished yet.”
Craze
“I have yet to start.”
Longinus takes his foot and makes a line in the dirt.
Longinus
“Come little one. Shot for shot.”
Craze
“I accept.”
Craze walks up to the line in front of Longinus.
Longinus and Craze stand in front of each other trading punch for punch. Neither one is trying to avoid the other’s punches.
Scene 5
We see Rahab and Nimrod in a small cabin of an aircraft with four seats.
Rahab
“I’m cloaking the ship now.”
The jets outer shell just bends light so it looks like its surroundings.
The aircraft lands on the roof of the building above the alley where Gabe almost died.
Rahab
“They are always late.”
Nimrod and Rahab exit the plane and just then Phil walks up holding a bottle in a brown paper bag.
Rahab
“If it isn’t Pedo Phil.”
Phil
“Fuck you.”
Rahab
“Aren’t I too old for you?”
Phil
“I didn’t know she wasn’t 18. She looked older.”
Phil takes a swig from his bottle.
Rahab
“Well, you were arrested for it.”
Phil
“Anyways. What’s up Nimrod? Still stuck working with this cunt?”
Nimrod nods his head up and down.
Rahab
“Fuck you both. Where’s your sister at?”
Phil
“Having some fun. I’m gonna drive separate and pick her up on the way.”
Rahab
“You were ordered to go with us.”
Phil
“Nah. I gotta get my sister first.”
Rahab
“The boss said…”
Phil interrupts her.
Phil
“Fuck him.”
Rahab
“I don’t know why Alexander puts up with you.”
Phil
“We got history.”
Rahab
“Well, either way, you better not mess this mission up.”
Phil
“I don’t understand how you put up with her.’
Phil says looking at Nimrod.
Nimrod just shrugs his shoulders.
Phil
“So, where are we going?”
Rahab
“Pennsylvania. The old nuclear site, Three Mile Island.”
Phil
“Well once I get my sister I’ll be there.”
Rahab
“Just fly with us. We can pick her up on the way.”
Phil
“Nah. I don’t like to fly.”
Rahab
“You’re afraid to fly? Now that’s funny.”
Nimrod nods his head up and down.
Phil
“Whatever. I’m outta here. Peace.”
Phil turns around and then leaves.
Rahab
“I don’t like him or his sister. They are both insane.”
Nimrod just stands there motionless.
Rahab
“I hate that you never talk.”
Rahab says as she walks back in the plane. Nimrod looks around and then follows her.
