Issue 6
Scene 1
The Devil and Michael are still in battle.
All of the little Devils recombine into one large Devil. His original size.
Michael raises his sword up, flies into the air, and then comes down with the sword to stab the Devil.
The Devil melts into the ground before Michael’s sword hits him.
The sword stabs into the ground.
The Devil rises from the ground 100 yards back from where he was standing. The Devil is laughing.
Michael
“And what are you laughing at?”
Devil
“You of course.”
Michael
“I’m not your plaything.”
Devil
“Are you sure about that? I haven’t enjoyed myself this much in ages.”
Michael raises his sword up and jumps at the Devil once again. Michael screams in anger.
The Devil laughs as Michael’s sword is buried in his body.
Michael
“Enjoying yourself now?”
The Devil is laughing. His body melts like wax into the ground. A new body rises up from the ground even further away from where Michael is standing.
Michael
“Enough of your tricks.”
Scene 2
Pilot takes off into the sky when Bruno’s body engulfs in flames and he follows after him. Pilot is faster but has no ranged attack. Bruno shoots fireballs and streams of fire at Pilot. Pilot creates an energy javelin and comes back towards Bruno. Pilot stabs Bruno. Bruno cries out in pain.
Bruno thinks back on his past.
Scene 3
“I was born Filippo Bruno in Nola, Italy in 1548. I was the son of Giovanni Bruno, a soldier in the Holy Roman Empire.
In my youth I was sent to Naples to be educated. I was tutored privately at the Augustinian monastery there, and attended public lectures at the Studium Generale.
At the age of 17, I entered the Dominican Order at the monastery of San Domenico Maggiore in Naples, taking the name Giordano, after Giordano Crispo, my metaphysics tutor.
It shows Giordano Crispo is actually Natas.
My cosmological theories were considered heresy under church doctrine. I proposed that the stars were distant suns surrounded by their own planets and the possibility that these planets might foster life of their own.
I continued my studies in Naples completing my novitiate, and then became an ordained priest in 1572 at the age of 24.
I was critical of the Roman Church and on the 20th of January 1600, Pope Clement VIII proclaimed me a heretic.
I was brought up on charges of holding opinions contrary to the Catholic Church. I was also accused of holding positions that were contrary to the holy trinity, the virginity of Mary, divinity of Christ, and incarnation.
Also for claiming the existence of a plurality of worlds and the possibility of life outside of our planet. All facts, even if I was unable to prove my theories at the time.
At my trial, I was never given a chance to speak in my defense. The inquisition issued a sentence of death.
I was however given a chance to address the court after my conviction.
I told them all, “Perhaps you pronounce this sentence against me with greater fear than I receive it.”
I was turned over to the secular authorities on 17 February 1600, in the Campo de’ Fiori.
I was stripped naked, with my tongue imprisoned because of my wicked words.
They drove a steel spike through the sides of my mouth which left metal exposed from both cheeks.
Then another spike was driven into the bottom of my chin with only the bottom end showing.
I was then burned alive at the stake for all of the public to witness. After my death, my body was discarded downstream of the Tiber river.
I awoke days later with Natas standing over me. My body was scarred from the fire and I still had the spikes in my face.
Natas told me about the Seven and asked me if I wished for him to heal my body and remove the spikes from my face.
I refused.
I would burden myself with these scars. A constant reminder of the ignorance and cruelty of my fellow man.
My life up to that point had always been about my education. I had never taken a lover or had any romantic interest. I had never lived life except through my studies.
I accepted the offer from Natas to join him, but only because I had nowhere else to go. I was lost and without purpose. I was mentally broken.
I not only looked like a monster, I felt like one. I fell into a deep depression that lasted years. A fog of self doubt and a loathing for humanity.
Many years later I did feel vindicated when my theories were proven as fact. However, by then it was too little too late.
I would be lying if I said I didn’t have issues, but for now I focus on the fight.
Natas and my friends have been understanding and all have made efforts to help me as I struggle with my mental health.
My scars could be healed and the spikes removed, but for now they give me purpose. It also wouldn’t repair what is broken within me.
The voice in my head that I constantly argue with. The voice that instructs me to surrender my life. The voice that fills the void with anger and self doubt.
I would tell you that I’m not crazy, but I’m afraid to do so because only the crazy ones deny it.
Scene 4
Bruno uses his fire to cauterize his wound and continues after Pilot.
Pilate outclasses Bruno in speed and maneuverability. Bruno indiscriminately throws fire at Pilot as Pilot continuously dodges his attacks.
Pilot taunts Bruno.
Scene 5
Pilot
“You are outmatched.”
Have to come up with more battle.
Pilot begins to think about his life.
Scene 6
“I was born in Rome in the year 20 BC. I was birthed from noble stock and educated in the ways of an entitled Roman citizen.
I took the name Pilate from the Latin word Pilatus which means “skilled with the javelin” after winning the Cognomen for myself while serving in the Roman military.
The name Pontius originates from the Pontii family, of Samnite origin. I was of the equestrian order, I was educated, and well-connected politically and socially.
I held military command under Nero Claudius Drusus to defeat the Gauls at the Battle of Arbalo and that is where I witnessed the greatest soldier to ever grace a battlefield.
I watched as this soldier single-handedly fought against an onslaught of Gaul barbarians.
After the day was done this soldier stood upon a mountain of dead bodies that was from his own making. I could not tell you what the Gods had in store for me, but I could tell you that this soldier was destined to be a part of it. His name was Longinus.
After our campaign and the death of Caesar Augustus I was summoned to Rome by the new Emperor Tiberius. It was a great honor. I was given the position as the new prefect of an outlying province of the Empire.
At the time I had heard only rumors about Judea and I had no idea as to how my life would change from this promotion.
I asked for the immediate transfer of that lone soldier and for him to be placed under my command. I then promoted him to Praefectus Castrorum.
I governed for less than a year when I began to hear rumblings about a young Jewish prophet causing trouble for not only the Jewish leaders, but for Rome as well.
At first, I ignored the request from the Jewish Sanhedrin to arrest this man they called Jesus, but over time I was given no choice but to engage with this young upstart. He created disturbances on a daily basis and made himself the center of controversy.
I would set up my household in Caesarea, only going to Jerusalem for feasts or to maintain order. I would also tour around the province in order to hear cases and administer justice.
As Governor, I had the right to appoint the Jewish High Priest and I also controlled the vestments of the High Priest in the Antonia Fortress.
I appointed Caiaphas and with the priests of the Sadducee they became trustworthy allies.
Well, as far as you can trust a Jew that is.
I had a difficult relationship with the Galilean Jewish King Herod.
The man would never acknowledge the might of Rome and every interaction with him was a battle.
It was after many arguments with King Herod that I finally took Jesus into custody.
It was Longinus and myself that tortured this so-called man of God from morning until night.
We bled him, assaulted him, and sexually abused him.
The Bible tells of his last hours on this Earth, but let me tell you that book is full of lies.
He was not a man of strength and faith. He was like all men put under torture, he cried and begged for the agony to end.
Sometime in the evening I became tired of his weakness and instructed Longinus to crucify him along with the two thieves that had been arrested.
After the crucifixion it was brought to my attention that my trusted Longinus had taken a bribe to end this so-called son of God’s suffering.
It was intolerable. So, I had my once loyal soldier tortured and forced to fight in the gladiator pits. However, he won every fight and it filled my soul with anger.
Longinus would not die from torture. He could not be bested by any gladiator in the arena.
I simply could not rid myself of this man. I had tired of him. After defeating four gladiators by himself, I could no longer tolerate the sight of this man.
For him to be defeated or die would not be enough. So I gave him the one thing that he didn’t even know he desired. I gave him hope.
I stood up as the crowd chanted his name and begged for his life to be spared. It infuriated me and the crowd grew silent.
I clenched my fist and pointed my thumb to the ground. The crowd cheered in joyous rapture. I could see on that fool’s face that he believed that he survived his ordeal.
However, that would not be the case. It was arranged beforehand that after I placed my thumb downward, the keeper would release his lions into the pit.
The crowd was infuriated. I feigned ignorance. I would later blame the keeper and hold his execution in public for his misdeeds.
I watched as Longinus killed three lions with his bare hands, but it wasn’t long until the rest of them slayed the man who had brought me so much trouble.
Why couldn’t this man have just died when I required it? Why couldn’t he just accept his fate? These plebs should know their place in the Empire.
I thought that was the end of the matter, but soon after a messenger arrived from Rome. The Emperor Tiberius had summoned me back to Rome for dereliction of duty.
I was being recalled to answer for the unfair treatment of a Roman citizen and soldier. Longinus was a well respected soldier in the Empire and he was still a thorn in my side. Even after his death.
As I made my journey back to Rome the Emperor had died.
Before I even entered the city Caligula was appointed the new Emperor and the complaint against me was forgotten.
I returned to my family’s estate and planned to retire to a life of boredom and peace, but fate had other plans for me.
One night as I lay in bed I was awoken to a large brutish figure standing over me. I could not make out his face before he blindfolded and tied me up. I then felt a blow to the back of my head and everything went dark.
I awoke to someone slapping me across the face. My blindfold was removed, but my mouth was still gagged. I could see that I was in the sewers under the city. I was shocked to see the man who had kidnapped me was Longinus.
I soiled myself and I started to weep in fear as Longinus just laughed at me.
Longinus
“What do you fear, old friend?
Oh that’s right. You are unable to speak. Well, I’ve got a lot to tell you. Stories that you will find hard to believe, but first I think I’m going to enjoy myself.
I was ordered to take your life quickly, but we both know that I have a problem with authority.”
Longinus beat and tortured me for days. He would throw buckets of shit and piss on me to wake me up after I had passed out.
Longinus
“You’re awake. Thank the gods, I was getting lonely.”
Longinus smiles and laughs.
Longinus
“I’m going to tell you a story and then afterwards I am going to kill you.
You won’t believe what I’m going to tell you, but after your death you will live once more.
When that happens you will have a choice to make. You will either join us or I will torture and kill you again “
Longinus went on to explain about the Seven and the true identity of King Herod. He explained what the mission was and that we have to join the others in Gaul.
Longinus
“We are the few that know the truth and it is our duty to stop the Seven.”
Longinus then slits Pilate's throat and he dies.
Pilate
“I was dead. I know I was dead. Then I was alive once again. Longinus was still standing there, but I could tell that some time had passed because of the empty wine flasks at his feet. He had just waited and drank.”
Longinus
“Welcome back to the living.”
Pilate
“How?”
Longinus
“It’s like I said. So, are we brothers or enemies?”
Pilate
“Brothers.”
“I stood up and felt as if nothing was wrong. My injuries were healed and I held out my hand for Longinus to shake. That’s when he pulled me close to him and whispered in my ear.”
Longinus
“If you ever betray me again, It will be worse than the last few days. I swear to Jupiter.”
Pilate
“Never again.”
After that we journeyed to Gaul. A small village by the name of Marseilles. We arrived just in time to witness the birth of Mary’s child.
She gave birth to a girl and when all seven of us were finally together we swore to protect the child with our very lives if needed.
On that day we became the Naga. A Hebrew word meaning touched by God. For even though we knew the truth, these beings were still Gods compared to us, and we would never stop until we had destroyed them.
Scene 7
The fight will end with Pilate getting in close and stabbing Bruno again. Bruno can’t hurt Pilate with flames.
Scene 8
Phil and Twisted are driving an old junker car down the highway. A large old car like an old Delta 88.
Phil
“I gotta piss.”
Twisted
“You’re going to make us late.”
Phil
“I don’t care. I have to go.”
Twisted
“You could piss in your suit.”
Phil
“Fuck you I’m stopping.”
Twisted
“I don’t care. I’ll get some snacks.”
Phil pulls over to a gas station. Outside are a group of bikers and their girls.
Phil gets out of the car and walks by the bikers and their girls.
Biker 1
“What the fuck are you wearing?”
Phil
“None of your fucking business.”
Biker 2
“Fuck you.”
Phil continues to walk into the gas station.
Biker 1
“This fucking guy.”
Biker 1 says to the other bikers.
Phil walks into the gas station. He uses the bathroom and then gets some beer. He’s paying for the beer when he looks outside to see Twisted talking to the bikers that confronted him on the way in. He pays for the beer and walks out.
Twisted
“What did you say to my brother?”
Biker 1
“Nothing.”
Twisted
“I know you said something. Just tell me. Don’t be scared.”
Biker 2
“Bitch. I ain’t scared of a little girl.”
Twisted starts to cry and places her hands over her eyes.
Twisted
“He called me a bitch.”
Biker 1
“What the fuck you crying about? Crazy fucking bitch.”
The biker says laughing at Twisted and looking at his buddies.
Twisted
“Don’t call me crazy.”
Twisted looks up and then punches Biker 1. She sends him flying through the air.
Biker 2
“You bitch.”
Biker 2 swings at Twisted, but she bends backwards and avoids the punch. Her body bends completely backward.
She bends back to a standing position and punches Biker 2. He flies through the air and lands in the area where the other bikers are parked.
Biker 3
“What the fuck?”
All of the bikers get off their bikes and walk over to where Twisted is standing. They surround her.
Biker 3
“Little girl you done fucked up.”
Twisted
“That’s the story of my life.”
Right then Phil busts in between the bikers and stands next to Twisted.
Phil
“Hey, what’s going on here?”
The bikers all start to laugh.
Biker 3
“Oh look, it’s a teddy bear.”
Phil
“I’ll give you guys one chance to walk away”
The bikers all look at each other and laugh even harder.
Biker 3
“Were gonna fuck you up.”
Phil
“We don’t have time for this.”
Twisted
“Then I guess we better hurry.”
Twisted pulls two knives out from her waist and strikes a fighting pose. At the same time Phil opens a beer and shotguns it.
Phil
“Well. Let’s do it then.”
Phil and Twisted begin to fight the bikers.
Phil takes the empty beer can and pushes it down into one of the bikers mouth. The bikers teeth fly out of his mouth as Phil’s arm is buried in the bikers throat all the way up to the elbow.
Phil slams the bikers head on the ground and pulls out his arm from the bikers face. He has teeth and blood all over his hand and wrist.
Another biker swings on Phil and Phil grabs his arm and pulls it out of the socket.
The biker screams as Phil throws his severed arm away like a piece of trash.
Another biker jumps at Phil and tries to flying kick him. Phil grabs his leg and starts to swing the bikers body like a baseball bat. He begins to strike the other bikers with the biker’s body that’s in his hands.
Twisted starts to slice and dice the others. She twists and contorts her body as she slices and stabs the bikers.
The bikers have no chance as Phil and Twisted easily beat up and kill them.
The girls that rode with the bikers are still standing by the bikes and all are silent as they watch the carnage.
All the bikers are dead and only Phil and Twisted are standing.
Phil
“And them?”
Twisted
“No witnesses.”
Phil jumps over to the girls while Twisted heads into the gas station. Phil starts to kill the girls. They don’t put up a fight. They try to run, but Phil kills them all.
At the same time, Twisted enters the gas station and walks up to the cashier. The cashier is on the phone. You can hear the operator on his phone.
Operator
“911. What is your emergency?”
The cashier is silent. He is scared and shaking.
Twisted
“Hang it up.”
The cashier remains silent.
Operator
“Hello? 911. What’s your emergency.”
Twisted takes the knife and slits the cashiers throat.
As the cashier grabs his throat and blood is pouring out, he drops the phone.
Twisted grabs the phone as it begins to fall. She puts the phone to her ear.
Twisted
“I’m sorry. I must have butt dialed you.”
Operator
“Is everything alright?”
Twisted
“Yes ma’am. I’m sorry for bothering you.”
Operator
“No problem. Thank you for staying on the line.”
Twisted
“Thank you, and have a good day.”
Twisted presses the red button on the phone to end the call. Right then Phil enters through the door carrying dead bodies on his shoulder.
Twisted
“I want to get some snacks before we go.”
Phil
“Alright. I’m gonna get some more beer.”
We see Twisted picking out snacks as Phil keeps bringing in bodies.
Phil’s last trip he walks out with a gas can from a shelf in the store.
Phil comes back in with the gas can and starts to spill gas around the bodies and inside of the gas station.
The next scene we see them drive off. Twisted eating snacks and Phil drinking a beer. We see the backseat stacked with beer and the gas station on fire behind them.
